ASBURY THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY announces a faculty position in Theology (with administrative responsibilities) for its Memphis, Tennessee site, commencing July 2015. Tenure and non-tenure tracks are possible depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. For the non-tenure track, which is initially a three-year appointment, the accrued years of service would count toward tenure if the position becomes permanent (in Memphis, Florida, or Kentucky). Rank is open. Consistent with the Seminary’s commitment to distance learning, the person hired in this position will be expected to be available to teach online courses as needed.
Candidates must have completed the Ph.D. or comparable degree in theology, with strong preference given to persons with degrees in some aspect of Wesleyan theology. In addition, since part of the workload will be coordinating with the Dean of the School of Theology and Formation, and the various student services offices in Kentucky, skills in organizational administration will be deemed a valuable asset. Some knowledge of Spanish and experience in distance learning are desirable, but neither is required.
