The Communications Director will work closely with the senior leadership and others within the organization on a variety of strategic initiatives.  The position is full-time with an annual base salary of $31,000 that can be supplemented.

  • Help to create and ensure the IFI Communications Calendar is implemented regularly.

  • Coordinate website content maintenance–ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly.

  • Track and measure the level of engagement within the key constituent groups over time.

  • Work with Director of Strategic Events to assist in the coordination and organization of  annual meetings that engage IFI’s discrete audiences.

  • Consult with IFI regional ministries regarding communication events in their local area.

Qualifications

The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical.

  • Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies

  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable and experienced using software for managing website content, editing video, and management of communications on social networks.

  • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently

  • Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to manage and direct the efforts of staff and volunteers, influencing them rather than leading through dictation

  • High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels

  • Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters
