This great communicator is comfortable and professional when interacting not only with RICOP employees but also anyone from laborers to C-level executives. Being a strong negotiator, this person knows when to stand his/her ground while being supportive and sensitive to others needs and situations.

 

The right candidate is a creative innovator who will define and follow processes, keep projects on task and on time through organization, planning and work management. Being a multi-tasker and delegator, this detailed VP of Operations will follow up internally as well as with customers. He/she will take responsibility when needed and is strategic in his/her approach. This VP of Operations possess great people skills when resolving issues and problems with employees, vendors and customers.

 

 

Responsibility

 

The responsibilities and duties of this VP of Operations include, but are not limited to, the following items:

 

  • Report directly to the President

  • Manage Project Managers and Superintendents (including interviewing,

hiring and firing, employee training and evaluations)

  • Continue education of staff through group and one-on-one training sessions

  • Develop formal processes and standard operating procedures

  • Schedule and assign teams to new projects

  • Oversee budgets and schedules

  • Quality control and Safety

  • Participate in strategic planning and sales presentations

  • Participate in company Vision and Direction Casting

  • Offer sales support and technical credibility

  • Troubleshoot (design, sub contractors, clients)

  • Develop intentional and consistent client relationships

  • Be the “face of the company” to the clients

 

 

Specifications

 

Required

  • Minimum of 10 years Construction Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years Field Experience

  • Design-Build experience

  • Experience in managing direct reports (including interviewing, hiring and firing)

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a leadership role

  • 4 year Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Microsoft product proficiency

 

Preferred

  • Portfolio of project lists with related, commercial projects of $500,000 to $15M (including roles, responsibility and success of projects)

  • 15+ years of Construction Experience

  • 10+ years of Field Experience

  • Small business experience

  • Career progression and stability

  • 4 year Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Business, Engineering or related field

 

Desired

  • Hard Bid experience

  • Estimating experience

  • Certifications (PM, LEED, etc.)

  • Community involvement/hobbies/interests
