Areas of greatest need are in 5th-12 grade Literature and Humanities. These classes provide the most built-in opportunities to connect academic lessons with eternal truths. Math and Science teachers are also needed are are crucial in presenting a comprehensive Christian worldview to the students

 

REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree is required, but no prior teaching experience is necessary. A sense of adventure and the ability to be flexible are also pretty important for life in Northern Iraq.

 

FINANCES: Salary in country is between $1,000 - $2,000/ month depending on grade level and number of classes taught. This salary is more than enough for rent and living expenses. SGI team members must be willing to raise personal support for their remaining expenses including airfare, health insurance, and savings. For a single person, the amount needed for the first year is about $10,000.

  SGI also provides assistance in setting up housing for field staff. Single team members usually share an apartment or house.
