Lead Pastor Mike Schreiner founded Morning Star Church (MSC) fifteen years ago with the vision of creating a “Christ-centered community of imperfect people connecting other imperfect people to the perfect love of God.” Their mission and way of accomplishing this vision has, from the beginning, been to “form fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ by meeting people right where they are and helping them take their next step on their spiritual journey.”
Today, MSC has two daughter churches and an on-site “Venue,” boasting a combined average worship attendance of 2,300. MSC is a healthy, growing church with a modern worship culture that is called by God to help others take steps on their spiritual journey to become fully devoted followers of Christ by beginning, belonging, becoming, and blessing.
The position that entails Video Production at Morning Star Church will create and articulate the vision for expressions at Morning Star Church in a creative and compelling way that supports its vision, mission, and values. They will be comfortable investing at least 75% of any given weekend for the purpose of successfully executing the expectations of this role. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with the Senior Pastor, the Executive Leader of Creative Departments, corresponding creative teams, and volunteers to create an environment and a product that will stimulate participation, growth, and connection among the attendees of the church. Shooting and editing weekend content that will be used across campuses and venues will be a primary responsibility for this role.
Success in this role will be measured by the effective integration of video elements to existing motion graphics, as well as producing footage that speaks to the culture, DNA, and vision of MSC. Above all, establishing and growing a recognized and positive presence within the MSC family, while appropriately leveraging their influence to draw the community toward the church’s goals and initiatives, will be paramount to this individual’s success.
This person must be a servant leader and team player who is called to full-time ministry. They will be authentic, collaborative, compassionate, relationally driven, empowering, creative thinker, dependable, highly-organized, and able to partner with staff and ministry leaders to create effective opportunities for faith exploration and development. This individual will further possess a high level of adaptability to changing circumstances.
Dardenne Prairie is located just outside St. Louis and is known for its rich history. It boasts three beautiful parks, where citywide events are often held, and competitive schools. An extremely family-centric area, the community largely consists of young families, where the median household income is well above the state average, in which the population has also doubled in the last 10 years. These two aspects have created great opportunities for businesses, restaurants, and entertainment to come to the city. Additionally, the corporate sector has its share of influence, with Mastercard, CitiGroup, and high tech stationary offices of the mid-management sector occupying business space within the region. Moreover, Dardenne Prairie’s proximity to St. Louis provides its citizens all the opportunities and activities of one of the biggest cities in the United States, while maintaining a personal, small-town feel.
