Worship Director

SUMMARY: The Vertical Worship Director will be responsible for organizing, leading, and developing the corporate and various worship ministries of Vertical Church Albuquerque, in partnership with the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor.

REPORTS TO: Executive Pastor

STATUS: Full Time

SUPERVISORY ROLE: Yes

REQUIRED SPIRITUAL AND LEADERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

He must be spiritually mature, humble, trustworthy, flexible, willing to follow, able to lead, and detail-oriented. In addition, he must possess excellent musical abilities, administrative abilities, and leadership competencies to lead worship, build teams, teach skills, and shepherd people.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience leading modern worship services solo and backed by a worship team
• Experience with basic technologies used in modern worship
• Excellent vocal ability
• Competency on guitar and/or piano
• Ability to create, edit, and transpose chord charts and lead sheets

PREFERRED TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of a relevant Bachelor’s degree or prior ministry experience and training
• Experience with recording and streaming technologies

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organize and oversee corporate worship services:·       Lead corporate weekend worship services ·       Produce and coordinate worship services with the Senior Pastor and volunteer Worship and Production Team leaders·       Draft worship schedules and set lists for all services & special events

• Develop worship music catalog, arrangements, and style for consistent, high quality, engaging worship experiences

·       Ensure all Worship and Production Team members have access to and appropriate training on equipment, software products, and other materials for all worship ministries

Lead worship team:

• Lead and shepherd Worship and Production Team volunteers
• Oversee and direct worship rehearsals
• Consistently cast big-picture vision to Worship and Production Team volunteers
• Identify, recruit, and develop leaders, musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers for VCABQ Worship and Production Teams
• Champion worship throughout the church, especially as it relates to music

Develop the worship ministries and personnel of VCABQ:

• Organize and facilitate training sessions for the growth of worship team members
• Identify and develop worship teams and leaders for other ministries of the church
• Enhance and expand the repertoire of music and worship arrangements

IN GENERAL: This person will assist the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor in fulfilling the mission and initiatives of Vertical Church Albuquerque
