Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Assists Senior Producer of the TV mission team in all aspects of production, as assigned by producer or Senior Producer.  Specific assignments to this position include international travel to video and/or photograph mission outreaches, working with mission teams and LIFE Today producers to plan video shoots, coordinating and packing team gear for travel, and other projects on an as needed basis.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Producer/Videographer will work as a member of the TV mission team.
  • As a member of the team, the Producer/Videographer is welcomed and expected to contribute original ideas for roll-ins and other creative aspects for the team.
  • Producer /Videographer is welcomed and expected to participate in planning and discussions regarding expected trips and field itineraries.
  • Maintains equipment inventory between trips and makes recommendations for necessary upgrades and replacement when needed.
  • Other duties may involve helping in a variety of positions during taping sessions of the LIFE TODAY daily program and mission specials.
  • Attendance at planning sessions will help give form and direction to specific duties assigned. 
  • Participating in and possibly directing field shoots for documentation may occur.
  • Producer/Videographer must have a valid Passport or be able to attain one for international travel.

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Ability to operate both DSLR cameras and traditional video cameras in both the field and studio settings.
  • Experience with non-linear editing systems and the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects).

 EDUCATION:

College degree or equivalent from an art or media institute is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous television production experience.
  • Demo reel required that showcases videography skills.
  • Writing skills and basic computer skills for word processing.
  • Script writing ability.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to co-workers.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit much of the day.  The employee is occasionally required to stand.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
