Journey Christian Church
Position: Worship Minister
Position Purpose: To provide spiritual leadership for Journey Christian Church’s worship ministries through music, prayer, multimedia and the creative arts, inspiring the entire congregation in corporate worship.
Supervision: The Worship Minister serves under the supervision of the Lead Minister and Elders of Journey Christian Church.
1. Leadership Expectations
a. Direct all music programs at the church in consultation with the Lead Minister through blended worship (1 Cor 9:19-23)
b. Lead all aspects of planning and performance for the worship ministry
i. Lead worship team rehearsals on a weekly basis
ii. Plan worship service details two weeks in advance
iii. Schedule volunteers four weeks in advance
c. Train and disciple the worship team
i. Highlight the unique gifts of team members by guiding and growing their talents
ii. Develop and lead blended worship that incorporates both contemporary and traditional musical styles, ensuring a seamless and engaging woship experience for diverse congregational demographics
iii. Mentor and collaborate with musicians of all ages and backgrounds, providing opportunities for growth and development
2. Responsibilities
a. Attend weekly staff meetings Monday at 10:00 am
b. Serve the Lead Minister to enhance and support messages through music selection, stage decoration, and other elements of the worship experience
c. Manage the details of lighting, sound, video, livestream, and presentation software for all worship services
d. Schedule all worship ministry volunteers (singers, musicians, sound techs, video techs, etc.)
e. Supervise the weekly communion meditation schedule
f. Develop and facilitate an annual budget for the worship ministry
g. Collaborate on the overall vision and goals of the church.
3. Qualifications
a. Have a healthy personal relationship with Jesus Christ
b. Proficient with an instrument and vocals
c. Have training and experience in worship ministry
d. Ability to lead, organize, and supervise
e. Proficient in church software such as Planning Center and Pro-Presenter
f. Agree with the doctinal position of Journey Christian Church
g. Have the heart of a servant and be willing to do things outside of your specialized area of ministry
h. Willing to learn and work as a team
4. Salary and Benefits
a. Pay: $50,000-$60,000 per year
b. SECA allowance if clergy
c. Flexible schedule

Journey Christian Church is a growing congregation in the fastest growing county in Georgia. Our church is new to Cherokee County. We purchased our current property in 2021 where God planted us after five years of meeting in rented spaces. We now sit on 26 acres with room to grow, right in the heart of the Hickory Flat community outside of Canton, Georgia. Two hundred new families move within 2 miles of the church every month. Nearly 200,000 people live within fifteen minutes of the church. Our mission is to "bring the peace of Christ to every household in our community."
